First Edition: Why Loop?

Welcome to the first edition of the Loop blog.

When I founded Loop Edition, the name was not an accident. It represents the intersection of two worlds that I believe are necessary to drive positive change in the world: the need for circularity and the iterative (agile) approach to development.

In a circular economy we design out waste. In Agile approaches we design in iteration. Both require us to loop back. A circular economy requires us to end the linear model of “take-make-waste” – instead, making resource use an endless cycle. In agile methods we revisit requirements, iterate on ideas, and constantly improve.

The word “loop” was inspired by the artworks of Harland Miller and Tony Heaton, where they use the word as a powerful motif. It felt like the perfect word for modern business: collaborative, flexible, and continually improving.

At Loop Edition, we are here to help you close the loop on your strategy and start delivering the change the world actually needs.
